yoga-at-home_450Lockdown is offering many of us a unique opportunity to retreat whilst we are experiencing fewer worldly distractions with no places to go or people to meet, and we can hardly go outside. Perhaps in one sense, it feels that our world has become much smaller, whilst in another, our inner world has an opportunity to become much larger.

Now we have a wonderful chance to develop your self-practice where we believe the real treasure of yoga can be found.

It may be that you’ve always wanted to try yoga, Pilates or meditation but have never found the time, the right guide or technique that suits you.

There are so many books with wonderful sequences (for example in Mira Mehta’s excellent book: Yoga – The Iyengar Way) as well as many great teachers offering online classes.

We highly recommend treating yourself to a one to one and let the teacher develop a sequence or a practice especially designed and tailored for you.  You could choose share the experience with your family/friends even if you’re not isolating with them.

This will give you something perfectly suited to your level and your needs and that you can practise until you see the teacher again.

Some of our students have recorded their online sessions so that they can use them for reference or to guide them in their practice in between our lessons. We developed with one of our students a two half an hour sequences which he now practises alternately throughout the week. This method helps both teacher and student focus on what’s needed and what works so that the yoga becomes a practice of learning and growth and gives a deep inner satisfaction.
